The original electronic haunted deck is back and better than ever! Perform the classic haunted deck on command, completely under the performer’s control, with no compromises and no strings attached.
With ease, the deck cuts to the spectator’s chosen card, creating a moment of real magic right at the spectator’s feet, across a room, or on the other side of a window! Vertex will enchant your audience and leave them wanting more.
The base unit comes with the deck plus the hands-free “magnetic” remote.
This item could take 3 days to ship! This depends on the options.
If the Stock Status says “On Backorder” it is because this item is in demand! We are making them weekly, so an ETA would be about 7-10 days.

Clear

This is the Arcane Relics version of Christopher Taylor’s Vertex.

The electronics have been redesigned to be thinner giving you a few more extra cards. Your spectator now has a total of 30 cards to choose from. The core engine is rechargeable, as well as the remote via USBC. With this new remote, you can set up the speed of the cut and operate the cut in LIVE mode, where you can control the speed as you perform it. For your convenience, the remote’s hands-free function is performed in two ways: one is a built-in reed switch activated via a magnet and the second is a detachable toe switch “option”. Vertex V2 is completely built in the US with most of the electronics being made in the USA.

The primary core engine will cut about 20x on a full charge.
The lipo is rechargeable, so you can have a charger ready to go for those long performance weekends.
The remote will auto-sleep, giving you up to 2 months of standby time.
While using the remote, the Lipo battery will last up to 12 hours and cut more than 20x.
This high-tech remote will work up to 100m, has a hoping frequency, and has a user-programmed delay.
Vertex’s core engine has been encapsulated to run with less noise than the Original.
All buttons and programming can be customized by us for those who need something special.

The reason for the new design is that we are having issues getting the vertex engine from the original factory, so we decided to make it in-house with the Arcane Way. If you prefer the Original version and if the parts and factory get things moving, we can order it for you.

The classic haunted deck is now under your complete control, able to be started and stopped at the performer’s command by the hands-free remote, push button, or by purchasing the toe switch option. Simply hand the deck off to the spectator, have them place it where they please, and sit back and watch the magic happen. With no complicated setup or gimmick, performing with Vertex is a simple way to astound audiences and leave them asking for more.

As a performer, you will love our attention to detail. The stitched deck means Vertex looks and acts like a regular deck of cards, and with a bank of 30 cards to choose from, you have plenty of room to perform your favorite routines. A rechargeable battery with LED indicators means that you are always performance ready, and packing it into just a standard card box means Vertex is perfect to carry with you to every performance. We even give you a carrying case to hold the entire unit and extras!

The base unit comes with the deck plus the hands-free “magnetic” remote.
You can order a toe switch, keeper switch, 2nd card core, and Remote Thumper “Coding System”. These are optional.
Option 1: The toe switch is used in your shoe “toe-operated” or under something.
Option 2: The keeper switch turns Vertex off when you put it back in the tuck box and on when you take it out. This saves you from turning it on/off yourself between daily performances and saves the bat.
Option 3: Card Core is so you have a backup if you dirty the first one. On this version, we added a coating on the card’s edge to repel dirt and stain.
Option 4: Remote Thumper option is a little harder to go over. I would look at its product page to find out more. In a nutshell, it allows you to use the Vertex deck as a remote “Thump” in your pocket, which turns it into a queuing device.

Also, while you are purchasing Vertex, I would suggest looking at the Remote Thumper “Coding System”. You save about $75.00.

Vertex Haunted Deck
Arcane Relics and Christopher Taylor. Available from Arcanerelics.com. $200. There is nothing that stuns an audience and leaves a lasting memory like a haunted
deck, especially if the deck moves under impossible test conditions. Now Arcane Relics has the best one on the market with four deck styles to meet any performance need.

As a mystery entertainment performer, I have a dozen or so haunted and rising decks. Some use invisible thread, loops, magnets, grains of salt, microsize plastic pellets, weights, or mechanical components. However, none are as versatile, easy to use, or reliable as Arcane Relics’ Vertex Decks.

Last year, Arcane Relics owner Chris Sipes purchased the rights to Taylor Imagineering’s excellent state-of-the-art Vertex deck. Unlike most other mechanical decks, the Vertex deck does not use a threadbased retraction system. It uses sonic vibration to split the deck. I have one of the original Vertex Decks from Christopher Taylor, and I loved it, although the deck could be a bit noisy and battery life could be an issue.

Sipes spent the last year refining the deck. He used smaller components, which helped eliminate noise. The smaller mechanics also allow for a thinner gimmick, so more regular cards can be added to the deck for the spectator to choose from. To increase the battery life, Sipes also added a sleep switch that puts the gimmick into sleep mode to conserve power when it’s in the card box. He made the gimmick easier to access to replace or repair anything that could go wrong. And finally, he added a multispeed controller that makes the deck amazingly versatile.

I put the deck under a glass dome and on the floor, and watched it slowly split at the point where the selected card was located. It was mind blowing. And even more impressive is watching the deck split at multiple points to reveal more than one card. You can also control how fast the split happens: eerily slow, a little faster, or use the custom speed mode to time your patter to the movement.

The decks are available in red or blue Bicycle backs. There are also vintage, distressed-looking 1900s-style backs and Tarot deck versions.

I understand that two hundred dollars is a lot to pay for a haunted deck, but the Vertex is a reputation maker. It’s a must-have for Mystery Entertainers, séance workers, and haunted dinner party performers. For mainstream magicians, this is a reliable and easy-to-use item you can add to your repertoire and should pay for itself during one Halloween season. If you already own a Vertex, as I do, I’d consider upgrading to this newer version because of the refinements that I noted. Either the vintage 1900s-style deck or the Tarot deck would be my recommendation.
Highly recommended. Rolando Santos
